Chennai, 11-11-2025 — In a move aimed at boosting India’s domestic battery manufacturing capabilities, mPower has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Trydan Tech to establish a new Lithium cell production facility in Tamil Nadu.
The initiative aligns with the Government of India’s Make in India programme and is expected to reduce dependency on imported battery cells.
The partnership brings together the technical and leadership expertise of Trydan Tech’s senior team — Hari Krishnan, CEO & Co-Founder; Satheesh Kumar, Co-Founder; and Meghna Nair, Head of Product Development — who are expected to play key roles in the project’s development.
Industry experts note that the demand for Lithium cells in India has risen sharply in recent years, driven by the expansion of UAV operations, growth in EV adoption, and the need for reliable energy-storage solutions in industrial sectors.
The new facility is expected to support India’s push toward clean energy infrastructure while strengthening Tamil Nadu’s position as an emerging hub for advanced battery manufacturing.
Further details regarding plant capacity, investment size, and production timelines are expected to be announced in the coming months.
