NAMO Drone Didi Scheme For Women Self-Help Groups

Namo Didi Scheme

Women's empowerment can't be understated for building a strong and developed nation. This is crucial when women thrive economically and contribute to rural prosperity. The Indian government has initiated several initiatives to promote drones across the country and empower women. NAMO Drone Didi Initiative is one of the recent initiatives unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 30, 2023.

This initiative aims to provide 15,000 agricultural drones to women's Self Help Groups (SHGs). This will put rural women at the forefront of the agricultural revolution, along with harnessing the technology.

NAMO Drone Didi Scheme: Revolutionizing Agriculture through Technology

In the past few years, there has been continuous development in the agricultural sector, and this initiative has effectively addressed the productivity of the agricultural sector and modernized its agricultural practices. Under this scheme, the government has placed cutting-edge technology in the hands of rural women. This will spread the agricultural revolution, becoming the epicenter of the rural economy.

Moreover, with this scheme, there are various opportunities that will open up. For instance, India can be the hub of dynamic start-ups in drone aeronautics, as there is a huge untapped potential. Since then, new liquid fertilizers like Nano DAP and Nano Urea have been used for efficient fertigation systems; women can participate in the futuristic agricultural plan with this scheme.

In addition to this, women Self Help Groups (SHGs) can provide this drone for rent to farmers. This can also lead to an increase in female pilots from SHGs, making a pivotal change in agriculture.

What are the benefits of the NAMO Drone Didi Scheme?

Empowering Rural Women: This scheme aims to provide 15,000 agriculture drones to SHGs. Farmers can rent drones from groups for their farming purposes, playing a key role in rural economies.

Advancement in Agriculture Practice: The NAMO Drone Didi Scheme will make drones available for rural areas, and they can be used to fertilize innovative liquid fertilizers like Nano Urea and DAP.

Creating Employment Opportunities: This scheme will support government initiatives for drone development and create employment opportunities. Rural women can participate in the operational and maintenance jobs of drones.

Incorporating Safety and Efficiency in Farming: Drones make farming more efficient and safe by replacing traditional methods. This replaces the methods like hand-held spraying pesticides and fertilizers. It helps reduce the risk associated with pesticides to farmers and increases crop yield. Moreover, drone technology can also aid in reducing operational costs, which benefits farmers.

Mitigating Physical Hardship for Farmers: Traditional farming puts physical strain on farmers, and the use of drone technology can help them reduce the physical strain associated with traditional farming activities.

Fertilizer Challenge for India

India is the second largest fertilizer producer in the world, but it still needs to depend heavily on imports. India has limited natural resources, such as phosphatic, and it made them the second largest importer of fertilizer.

The recent geo-political situations and pandemic have posed some challenges, as fertilizer prices have never seen these heights. Moreover, the government has taken the challenge as an opportunity, encouraging indigenous research to find alternatives to fertilizers. Nano fertilizer is the solution to this problem.

Overcoming These Challenges

The government has taken the initiative to reduce the import dependence. To achieve this, they have revived various closed fertilizer units and set up new fertilizer units under the "Atma Nirbhar Bharat" scheme. This approach has helped farmers with cost-effective fertilizer and protected them from a volatile international market.

Moreover, government subsidies have ensured that farmers will have adequate quantities of fertilizer at the right time and right price. The government is required to address the challenge by developing an efficient fertigation system.

The Role of Kisan Drones in Efficient Fertigation System

Kisan Drones have revolutionized agricultural practices by opening up immense possibilities. It has replaced the traditional method of spraying pesticides and liquid fertilizers by automating the spraying process. The traditional method of spraying is time-consuming and can be dangerous for reptiles and wild animals. Moreover, agriculture drones have automated the spraying system, saving time and increasing efficiency.

The Way Forward of the NAMO Drone Didi Scheme

People are seeing the NAMO Drone Didi scheme as a game changer. Since this scheme focuses on women, the NAMO Drone Didi scheme can add a new chapter to women's empowerment and rural prosperity. Additionally, the scheme is also supported by Pradhan Mantri Krishi Samriddhi Kendras, which provides agriculture services under one roof.

mPower: Supporting NAMO Drone Didi Scheme with Lithium Drone Battery

NAMO Drone Didi Scheme empowers women in rural prosperity and also fosters drone technology for agricultural usage. This will revolutionize the agricultural industry and will create employment opportunities. The government of India aims to provide 15,000 drones to SHGs, and mPower has come forward with a drone battery to support this scheme. We understand the growing dynamic of drones in various industries, but without an effective Lithium drone battery, the importance of drone technology will be reduced. We facilitate a customized drone battery to drone manufacturers based on the needs of a drone.
